The first thing to do when you want to come to God is to be full of thanksgiving and gratitude. This is what Paul was communicating when he said
Thanksgiving should be the first thing we do as we begin to pray and for a new day like today, we should thank God for preserving our lives throughout the night, for His mercy, His grace, and love towards us.

God will only lead you through the day when you are meek and acknowledge your need for His leadership. Why is God’s leadership important in the first place? We cannot lead ourselves. The things that are right in our eyes are not always God’s plan and if you want to make the most out of your day, you are best under the guidance of God’s spirit.

God has a purpose for everyone of us and when we begin to walk in them we will be fulfilled. Every day gives us an opportunity to walk in God’s purpose, leading to our expected end. If a day is out of His purpose, it is to our detriment. Hence, say this prayer to ensure that you are living in God’s plan for your life for today.

We have been called to a walk of love. This is to say that God expects us to walk in love but then it can be hard. There are people who are so undeserving of any form of love but Jesus even taught us to love our enemies. It is wise to ask God to help us walk in love even when it is hard.

A prayer for the right connections with people is an important one. You do not want to meet the wrong people in life and as you go about your day, pray that only the right people come your way. Also, ask for discernment to know when the wrong people are trying to make their way into your life.

This is a very important prayer – staying in God’s will. It is about asking God to help you hear His voice and being yielded enough to say Yes to Him when He speaks. It is a request to ensure that the things you do today are aligned to His will and bring Him glory at the end of the day.

Fellowship with God should be our priority. As you get busy, a prayer to stay in tune with God is very essential. You do not want to operate in your energy throughout the day, so, ask God to keep your heart sensitive to His presence around you. This prayer shows a desire to walk with God for the whole of the day.
