Why Should We Thank God?

There are several reasons why we should thank God for the month of December. The following are some of the reasons why we should say these prayers for the month of December:

For the gift of Life

The fact that you are alive today is a testimony of God’s sustaining power. Every breath you take is a brand-new gift from Him. Psalm 150:6 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” You may not have everything you want, but as long as you have life, there is hope for tomorrow.

For Provision

This year, God has kept us from dangers seen and unseen. He has been our provider, even in times when we thought we would not make it. Think of the food on your table, the roof over your head, and the strength to get through each day’s trial. Psalm 23:1 reminds us, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

For Open Doors

Some of us have experienced breakthroughs, new jobs, promotions, healing, or restored relationships. Even if you’re still waiting on your miracle, remember that every small victory is a sign that God is working in your life. Revelation 3:8 says, “See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it.”

God’s Unchanging Love

Throughout this year, God’s love has been constant. Even in moments when we felt unworthy, He never abandoned us. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”

The Gift of Salvation

Above all, we thank God for the gift of Jesus Christ our savior. His sacrifice on the cross remains the ultimate expression of love. If everything else fades away, our salvation is secure in Him. John 3:16 declares, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
