Curses are real and you must not let anyone deceive you that they aren’t. When you notice a curse working in your life, you should use these 14 prayers and scriptures to break curses.
I have not only provided the prayer points, I have also explained how they work so that you can pray with understanding:
Father, I come against any curse that has been operating in my life knowingly or unknowingly. I command these curses to break now in the name of Jesus.
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us… and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.” – Colossians 2:14.
Sometimes the thing you’re fighting is not just physical or emotional but something written in the spirit against you from long ago and it has just been there standing like it has right.
But the Bible says Jesus wiped that handwriting off completely and nailed it to the cross and left nothing standing.
You don’t need to understand everything but you need to open your mouth and cancel every old record that says you can’t rise.
Lord, I renounce every generational curse passed down through my family. I disconnect myself from it in Jesus’ name.
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.” – Galatians 3:13.
This one is deep because some of the things holding people back didn’t start with them and it has been flowing like a river from one generation to another and just waits to mess up anybody that shows potential.
When Jesus became a curse He took everything from your bloodline and crushed it so that you don’t have to suffer what they suffered again.
With this prayer point, you are cutting off old things with force and you are saying I am now part of a new line in Christ.
Father, I cancel every negative word ever spoken over my life. I declare those words are powerless and shall not stand.
“The curse causeless shall not come.” – Proverbs 26:2
Words are not small things because some people are still carrying what someone said to them ten years ago and it stuck and grew and now they live by it like it’s truth.
If a word didn’t come from God and it was sent to limit or destroy or shame you then you have the right to reject it and say it must fall to the ground.
The devil uses voices to create fear and confusion but your own voice can shut those voices down completely and this prayer does just that with power.
Lord, I repent for every act of disobedience in my life or in my family that opened the door to curses. Have mercy and break the consequences of that disobedience.
“If thou wilt not hearken… all these curses shall come upon thee.” – Deuteronomy 28:15
Some curses came because there was an open door that someone in the family opened or even you and the enemy entered because he had the right.
But when repentance enters the story it changes everything because mercy speaks louder than mistakes and the blood speaks louder than judgment.
I break every curse that came through ancestral worship or idolatry in my bloodline. I declare I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
“Visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation…” – Exodus 20:5.
There are things that were done before you were even born like sacrifices and rituals and covenants with strange gods and those things still speak and follow people even if they go to church.
But when you step into Christ and call His name with faith the power of that bloodline idol loses its grip on you because another blood speaks now.
You pray this kind of prayer when you are ready to disconnect from everything that does not look like God and you want full freedom.
I reject and destroy every curse sent through witchcraft, spells, or divination. They will not prosper in my life.
“There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.” – Numbers 23:23
Witchcraft is not a movie thing it is real and many destinies have been tied and manipulated through charms and strange rituals and sometimes people don’t even know they’ve been targeted.
But the Bible says it cannot work against you if you are walking in covenant with God and you know who you are in Christ.
Lord, I break every self-imposed curse that I spoke over myself in frustration or fear. I cancel those words now.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” – Proverbs 18:21
Sometimes the curses don’t even come from outsiders but from your own mouth when life was hard or confusing and you said things like nothing good comes to me or I am tired of trying and those words stayed.
But the same mouth that spoke them is the same mouth that can break them and speak new life and peace and blessing. You don’t leave those negative words hanging in the air you cancel them with truth and boldness and this prayer helps you do exactly that.
Father, I come against any curse spoken against me out of jealousy or hatred. I reject it in Jesus’ name.
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue… thou shalt condemn.” – Isaiah 54:17.
Some people don’t like you just because you carry light or you have potential or they see something they wish they had and they speak against you in secret.
You may never hear all they say but you can condemn every single tongue that rises and that’s your right as a child of God.
When you pray this prayer you’re not just defending yourself you’re going into the spirit and breaking the arrows before they can land.
I break every curse that has been holding back my finances. I speak breakthrough, provision, and increase.
“The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure…” – Deuteronomy 28:12
When money refuses to stay or come no matter how hard you work it is not just a money problem it is a spiritual blockage and you need to deal with it in prayer.
The Bible says God can open His good treasure so if you’re living from struggle to struggle then that means something needs to be broken spiritually.
This kind of prayer is not asking for luck it’s demanding that every curse of lack and dryness be uprooted completely and you declare your hands will start seeing fruit.
I break every curse affecting my love life, marriage, or relationships. Let healing and restoration begin today.
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
Some people carry relationship curses and it keeps making things scatter just when love wants to settle and it keeps repeating the same heartbreak story again and again like clockwork.
It’s not normal and it’s not just emotional sometimes it is a pattern from the past that has to be broken by prayer.
When you pray this prayer you are not begging for love you are declaring restoration and saying the curse has no more right to mess with your home or heart.
Every cycle of failure, delay, or near-success syndrome—I command you to break right now in Jesus’ name.
“Affliction shall not rise up the second time.” – Nahum 1:9
When you keep coming close but never enter the promise or you start things and they just stop halfway every time then you are dealing with a cycle and not just coincidence. God said affliction is not meant to rise again but if you don’t confront it it will keep returning like it owns you.
Any demonic curse or evil covenant introduced in my dreams—I cancel it now by the blood of Jesus.
“While men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares…” – Matthew 13:25
Many battles begin in the dream and people think dreams are just pictures but in the spirit realm dreams are gates and covenants can be formed there without your permission.
Some people eat in dreams or see dead people or get attacked and they wake up feeling strange and weak and that is not ordinary.
This kind of prayer cancels every transaction that happened while you slept and you call on the blood of Jesus to erase every demonic planting before it starts growing.
I break every bloodline curse or covenant still speaking against me. Let the blood of Jesus speak a better word over me.
“To the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” – Hebrews 12:24
You are not just from your family tree you are also part of the tree that comes from Christ and His blood now speaks on your behalf and that blood is louder than anything else.
Whatever altar or curse or covenant made by your ancestors it doesn’t matter anymore because you are under a new covenant that has power and life and mercy.
Thank you, Jesus, for breaking every curse. I declare I am free, blessed, and walking in the covenant of Abraham from today.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” – John 8:36
When Jesus sets you free it’s not temporary and it’s not surface level it is full and deep and permanent and that’s what you need to believe with your whole chest.
You’re not praying this from fear anymore you are praying from victory and giving thanks because every curse is shattered and your life is now marked by the blessing.
When you say this you are sealing it with faith and walking out of the grave clothes completely.
