The end of the year is here and yes we have been praying all through but now is not the time to stop. It is time to intensify our efforts in prayers. 
The following prayers to end the year well will give you enough inspiration to order your prayers this period. Pray them today, tomorrow, and until the end of the year.
There are prayers that should even continue until the first week of the new year. I will indicate them as you read on.
Thanksgiving Prayers to End The Year Well
Prayers should always start with thanksgiving and that is what this section of prayers to end the year well is about. Our sustenance throughout the year 2024 did not come by our efforts or skills or abilities but by God’s mercies. This is what Lamentations 3:22 tells us.
With that said, here are ten thanksgiving prayers to end the year 2024:
- Lord, thank You for keeping me alive till now. Your protection and preservation of my life are evident as I am seeing the end of 2024 and crossing into 2025 (Psalm 150:6)
- Father, I thank You for protecting my family from harm. Thank You for your protection, which preserved us from every agenda of darkness. (Psalm 91:11)
- Jesus, I am grateful for every meal I ate this year. Thank You Lord for always making a way for me and for proving yourself mighty in my life. (Psalm 145:15)
- God, thank You for giving me peace when things got hard. Thank You for the comfort you supplied to me as I saw through the year. (Philippians 4:7)
- Thank You, Lord, for every happy moment I had this year. Even though there were sad times, your goodness made sure I wasn’t down for too long. Thank You, Lord. (Psalm 16:11)
- Father, I thank You for giving me a job to do. Your hand of provision made the job/gig/contract possible and I am grateful for that. (Deuteronomy 8:18)
- Lord, thank You for keeping my health strong this year. Thank You because no matter what happened, I am alive today and I recognize that it is by your Grace and Mercy alone. (Exodus 23:25)
- Thank You, God, for every friend who supported me. Thank You for bringing people my way that helped me throughout the year. (Proverbs 18:24)
- Father, thank You for forgiving me every time I messed up. I ask that you give me the grace to stay in your will and in obedience to your counsel. (1 John 1:9)
- Lord, I praise You for being with me every single day. I can see that you were with me and the constant reassurance of your presence made all the difference in me. (Joshua 1:9)
Prayers for Protection for the Remaining Year
We are not ignorant of the plans of the enemy. Our consolation is in the fact that we have the protection from God. His Word says that He will give His angels charge over us (Psalm 91:11) and they will keep and preserve us.

- Lord, protect me from accidents as this year ends. No plot of the enemy to kill me or anyone connected to me will prevail in the name of Jesus. (Psalm 121:7)

- God, cover my home with Your blood so no harm comes near. As you preserved the Children of Israel with the mark of the Blood, I place the same mark over my life and ask that my life and that of my family is preserved from every harm this remainder of the year in the name of Jesus. (Exodus 12:13)
- Jesus, let no evil plans succeed against me this year. I cancel out their plans in my life in the name of Jesus. (Isaiah 54:17)

Prayers to Force God’s Blessings on the Year
There are blessings that God has prepared for us even in the last days of the year. We are praying the following prayers to provoke them on us:
- Father, every blessing You planned for me this year, I take it now. (Deuteronomy 28:2)

- Lord, fulfill every prophecy over my life before this year closes. (Isaiah 55:11)
- Jesus, let none of Your promises to me fail this year. None of your words for me this year will fail in the name of Jesus. (Joshua 21:45)
- God, I hold on to every word You spoke about my life. I have faith that you can do it and time is not a problem for you. (Psalm 119:89)
- Lord, make Your promises happen suddenly for me. The year is not permitted to come to an end before your words to me come to pass. (Habakkuk 2:3)
Prayers for a Triumphant Entry into the New Year
Moving on, another set of prayers that are important in these last days is a prayer to enter the New Year triumphantly:
- Jesus, I will not crawl into the new year; I will enter with victory. (2 Corinthians 2:14)
- Father, let the new year open with celebration for me, and may I celebrate every day in the new year. (Isaiah 61:7)
- Lord, I will not carry any failure into the new year. Every failure that has plagued me over the years will not follow me into 2025, in the name of Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
- God, make me a winner as I step into January. (Romans 8:37)
- Lord, every unfinished good thing will enter the new year with me. (Ecclesiastes 7:8)
Prayers for Divine Direction in the New Year
One of the biggest needs for every new season is divine direction. We need God to direct us to ensure we make the most out of the New Year.

- God, let Your voice be clear to me every day of the new year. I do not want to exist outside your voice and leadership. (Isaiah 30:21)
- Lord, teach me to follow Your plan, not mine. Help me to rely on you so much that I do not think about my own plans. (Proverbs 16:9)
